INDIANOLA, Iowa. - The Illinois College men's soccer traveled to Simpson College Friday night. The Blueboys fell short in a hard fought match to Simpson College by the score of 2-1 to move to 2-2 overall this season.
In the 17th minute,
Santiago Martinez entered the game off the bench. Three minutes later, Martinez gave the Blueboys the early 1-0 lead with his first goal of the season.
Simpson College tied the game at 1-1 in the 36th minute as the score remained notched at the half.
The Storm found the back of the net in the 53rd minute to take the 2-1 advantage. IC had two corners kicks in the final minutes but the Blueboys was unable to connect leading to the Storm victory.
The Blueboys will host the Eutectics of UHSP this Sunday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m in England Stadium.
