JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College men's soccer team hosted the Eutectics of UHSP Sunday afternoon. The Blueboys blanked UHSP by the score of 3-0 to improve to 3-2 overall this season.
In the opening minutes, the Blueboys came out aggressively on offense with two shots on goal. In the 15th minute,
Albert Nimako netted a corner kick of the foot ofÂ
Jason Hernandez that gave IC the 1-0 lead.
Just over 10 minutes later,
Reed Rogers extended the Blueboys lead to 2-0 with a shot past the diving UHSP goalkeeper. IC took the 2-0 lead into halftime.    Â

IC added their final goal of the afternoon in the 87th minute on a
Eric Espinoza shot that was assisted by Hernandez. The Blueboys outshot the Eutectics 21-10 with 11 of those shots being on goal.Â
First-year
TJ Esseily made his IC debut in goal and recorded five saves that ended with a shutout victory. Â
The Blueboys will host Augustana College (IL) on Tuesday, September 12 at 6:00 PM in England Stadium. Â
