DECATUR, Ill. - The men's and women's golf team concluded action at the two-day Butts & Dechert Classic tournament hosted by Millikin University on Saturday. The Lady Blues finished the classic with a third-place finish while the men's team captured a sixth-place finish.
The Lady Blues had three student-athletes finish in the top-20 individually led by
Alyvia Burr as she finished in a three-way tie for 14th-place overall. Burr shot identical rounds of 85 for a total score of 170.
Katie Mae Milhiser closely followed Burr with rounds of 88 and 85 (173) which earned a three-way tie for 17th-place.
Kate Burr finished the classic in 20th-place individually with rounds of 86 and 88 (174).
Hannah Harpster finished the tournament in a three-way tie for 24th-place overall with rounds 88 and 89 (177) while
Amy Fowler finished in 34th-place with rounds of 93 and 95 (188).
As a team, the Lady Blues earned a third-place team finish out of nine teams.
The Blueboys were led by
Jarrett James with a 10-over par with round 75 and 77 (152) which earned a 19th-place individual finish.
Kacee Fulkerson shot a one-over par 72 in the opening round on day one and shot an 81 in the final round that earned a three-way tie for 20th-place.
Peter Hauser shot a two-over par 73 in the final round that helped earned a 23rd-place finish.
Samuel Frericks opened the classic with a five-over par 76 but ended the classic with a round of 85 that earned a tie for 35th-place overall.
The Lady Blues will travel to Metamora, Illinois to participate in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship on Sunday, October 8-10 at Metamora Fields Golf Club.
