JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The IC women's tennis team hosted Saint Ambrose University for a non-conference match Wednesday evening. The Lady Blues extended their win streak to four matches after defeating the Bees by the final score of 8-1. IC now stands at 5-6 overall this season.
IC got off to a quick 4-0 lead after earning four single match victories from No. 3 - No. 6 players.
Lily Ingram earned the No. 3 singles victory by the final score of 6-1, 6-1.
Madison Eastin and
Sabrina Ingram earned the No. 4 and No. 5 victories by defeating their opponents in straight sets. IC's
Chloe Plough earned the final singles victory of the evening by defeating her opponent in the tie-breaker set 7-3.
The Lady Blues took care of business in the doubles competition earning all three victories. The No. 1 doubles team of
Michelle Maag and
Lily Ingram defeated their opponents by the score of 8-1. The duo of
Hannah Lueke and
Sabrina Ingram battled to defeat their opponents 8-5 while Eastin and Plough won 8-4.
The Lady Blues will return to Midwest Conference play hosting Monmouth College on Saturday, September 30 at 10:00 AM.
