JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The IC women's tennis team continued Midwest Conference play and hosted Monmouth College on Saturday. The Lady Blues fell just short to the Fighting Scots in by the final score of 4-5. IC now stands at 5-7 overall and 2-3 in the MWC.Â
The Lady Blues were led in No. 3 doubles by
Madison Eastin and
Chloe Plough with an 8-1 win. The No. 1 doubles team of
Michelle Maag and
Lily Ingram battled very tough competition and came up just short by the score of 6-8. The No. 2 doubles team of
Hannah Lueke and
Sabrina Ingram battled very hard competition and was able to win four sets.Â
IC earned three single matches victories from the No. 4- No. 6 positions. Eastin and Plough earned the No. 4 and No. 6 victories by blanking their opponents in straight sets.
Sabrina Ingram captured the No. 5 single match by the scored of 6-1 and 6-1.Â
The Lady Blues will travel to Lewis & Clark Community College to face Trailblazers on Wednesday, October 4 at 3:00 PM in Godrey, Illinois.Â
