JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues continued the IC Home Volleyball Tournament on Saturday facing Earlham College and Anderson Univeristy. IC picked up two wins to go undefeated on their opening weekend and advance to 4-0 overall to start the 2023 season.
GAME 1- Illinois College 3, Earlham College 1
The Lady Blues started the second day of the tournament with a competitive win over Earlham College 25-13, 12-25, 25-22, 30-28. IC had three athletes reach double figures in kills led by
Paige Knuffman with 15 in the match.
Laura Kaiser followed with 12 kills and
Ligaya Garibay after her with 11.
Summer Brandis was busy at the net setting up her teammates to lead the team with 40 assists in the match.
GAME 2- Illinois College 3, Anderson University 0
IC earned a big win in their second match of the day over the Anderson Ravens 25-8, 28-26, 25-14. Garibay was the standout recording 13 kills and seven digs in the match. Knuffman also made an impact with 12 kills and two solo blocks.
The team will travel to face Greenville University on Tuesday, 9/5 at 7:00 PM.
