ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois College men's soccer team traveled to Webster University Tuesday Night. The Blueboys defeated the Gorlocks by the final score of 2-0. With this victory, IC improves to 5-3-1 overall this season.
IC and Webster went back-and-forth on shots as each team totaled nine shots in the first half.
In the 50th minute, IC was rewarded a penalty kick. The All-Time leading scorer in soccer history in
Tyler Schiltz netted the penalty kick that gave IC the 1-0 lead.
In the 63rd minute,
Santiago Martinez put a shot on goal when
Tyler Lunning collected the rebound and netted a goal.
IC outshot Webster 21-13 as nine shots were on goal.
Owen Macias represented IC in goal with four saves.
The Blueboys will open Midwest Conference play with a visit to Ripon College on Saturday, September 23 at 1:30 PM
