JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The IC men's soccer team hosted the Red Devils of Eureka College Saturday afternoon. The Blueboys shutout the Red Devils by the final score of 5-0 to improve to 4-3-1 overall this season.
IC's
Tyler Schiltz tied and then broke the All-Time scoring record for the most goals scored in a career with his 22nd career goal.
In the 10th minute, the Blueboys jumped out to the early 1-0 lead when
Albert Nimako netted a header that was assisted on a cross from
Reed Rogers. Shortly later,
Tyler Lunning extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal as Rogers was credited with the assist for his second assist of the game.
In the 26th minute, Schiltz added another goal for IC as that goal tied the All-Time scoring record with 21 career goals. IC took the 3-0 lead into halftime.
Two minutes in the second half, Schiltz became the All-Time scoring leader with his 22nd career goal that extended the Blueboy lead to 4-0. IC added its final goal of the day in the 84th minute when
Eric Espinoza netted a hard-lined shot just outside the 18-yard box.
First-year
TJ Esseily played 75 minutes in goal as
Jaden Klopp made his IC debut for the final 15 minutes in goal. Each goalkeeper recorded one save in the victory.
The Blueboys will travel to Webster University on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:00 PM in St. Louis, Missouri.
