MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face Monmouth College on Tuesday for a MWC doubleheader. The team picked up two wins to remain undefeated in conference play with an overall record of 21-10-1 and a MWC record of 14-0.
GAME 1- Illinois College 3, Monmouth College 0
IC relied on a strong performance from their starting pitcher
Julia Drake pitching 7.0 innings earning the shutout win with 11 strikeouts.
Kiya Hagene was the standout at the plate going two for four with two runs scored.
Annie Schimpf was another standout going two for four with two RBI.
GAME 2- Illinois College 4, Monmouth College 1
Hagene continued to thrive at the plate in game two finishing the day going two for four.
Calynn Gicante also had an impressive day offensively going two for four with two RBI.
Olivia Shimmin earned the win in the circle pitching 7.0 innings with four strikeouts.
The Lady Blues will look ahead traveling to face Greenville University on Friday, 4/28 at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
