JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Ripon College in their second MWC doubleheader of the weekend. IC earned a sweep defeating the Red Hawks to advance to 19-10-1 overall and 12-0 in the MWC.
GAME 1- Illinois College 8, Ripon College 0
IC was led by their star pitcher
Julia Drake in the first game. Drake earned the win pitching all 5.0 innings with seven strikeouts allowing just three hits with no runs.
Calynn Gicante was the standout at the plate going a perfect three for three with two runs scored and two RBI.
GAME 2- Illinois College 10, Ripon College 3
The second game of the day proved to go in IC's favor once again.
Olivia Shimmin got the start earning the win pitching 4.0 innings with three strikeouts.
Annie Schimpf made an impact at the plate finishing the game going two for four with two runs scored.
The team will continue their MWC schedule traveling to face Monmouth College on Tuesday, 4/25 at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
