JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Grinnell College in the final game of their weekend series. The Blueboys earned the victory defeating Grinnell with a final of 8-1.
IC was led by a strong performance from
Branson Shaw at the mound pitching 6.0 innings with five strikeouts to earn the win.
Tory Wickman earned his fifth save of the year finishing the last 3.0 innings with three strikeouts.
Nolan Decker was the standout at the plate going three for four on the day with two RBI.
Ryne Mapes also made an impact going two for three with one RBI.
IC got off to a strong start after a double by Decker brought in two runs to make the score 4-0 in the bottom of the third.
Logan Schweigert hit a solo homer in the seventh to extend the lead to 5-1. IC held off the Pioneers to claim the win.
The Blueboys will travel to face Knox College on Wednesday, 4/26 at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
