JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys baseball team hosted Lawrence University on Sunday to finish their weekend MWC series. The team earned a win defeating the Vikings with a final of 21-17 to advance to 10-18 overall and 6-6 in the MWC.
Lawrence got off to a strong start building a tremendous lead 2-10 in the fourth inning. IC's offense got going in the sixth inning scoring 12 runs to take the lead 17-11.
Ben Jarboe earned a save at the mound holding off the Viking's explosive offense to complete the comeback with the aid of some great defensive plays by the Blueboys.
Tyler Jowett earned the win pitching 1.2 innings with one strikeout.
The team was led by
Ryne Mapes going three for four at the place with two runs scored and five RBI.
Louie Bartletti was another standout for IC going two for three at the plate with four runs scored and three RBI.
The Blueboys will host Knox College on Tuesday, 4/18 at 2:00 PM.
