AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Illinois College baseball team continued their spring trip taking on Marian University on Monday. The team suffered a loss to the Panthers with a final score of 5-11.
The Blueboys started the game off strong jumping to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Marian battled back to take the lead scoring seven runs in the fifth inning to make the score 5-9. Marian continued to play well offensively putting up enough runs to defeat the Blueboys.
Griffin King started at the mound for the Blueboys pitching 4.0 innings with three strikeouts.
Andrew Wieneke suffered the loss pitching 0.2 innings with one strikeout.
The Blueboys will look to bounce back as they face Concordia University Chicago on Tuesday, 3/7 at 9:00 AM ET.
