AUBURNDALE, Fla.- The Illinois College Blueboys continued their spring trip facing off against Concordia University of Chicago on Tuesday. The team suffered a loss to the Cougars with a final score of 9-20.
The game remained close with both teams tied 1-1 through three innings. IC would take the lead after a double by
Connor Hennemann and a single by
Logan Schweigert brought in three runs to put the Blueboys ahead 4-1 in the fourth inning. The Cougars exploded offensively scoring 13 combined runs in the sixth and seventh innings to build a substantial lead. This would prove to be enough to earn the win over IC.Â
Jacob Smith suffered the loss at the mound pitching 5.0 innings with four strikeouts.Â
The Blueboys will look to bounce back as they face Grove City College on Thursday, 3/9 at 9:00 AM ET.Â
