GAME 1- Illinois College 7, Penn State Altoona 16

IC started their spring trip with a seven-inning game against Penn State Altoona. The team was led by Louie Bartletti going three for four at the plate with two runs and one RBI. Cullen McBride was a standout as well going one for three with one run and one RBI.

The game was tied 5-5 in the top of the fifth. Penn State Altoona was able to take control scoring 11 unanswered runs. This proved to be too big of a deficit to overcome as the Blueboys would suffer the loss in game one.

McBride started at the mound pitching 4.0 innings with four strikeouts. Walker Smith took the loss on the mound pitching 1.0 inning with one strikeout.

GAME 2- Illinois College 15, Penn State Altoona 7

Bartletti went three for four with three runs scored. McBride hit two for five at the plate recording two runs and two runs batted in. Griffin King also had an incredible stat line going two for four with two runs and four runs batted in.

IC jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first inning. Penn State was able to cut the lead to 9-6 at the end of the fifth inning. A single by Jon Tate and a double by Griffin King in the sixth would score three more runs to give IC a comfortable lead. The Blueboys would hold on to claim the win.

The Blueboys will continue their spring trip facing Marian University on Monday, 3/6 at 12:45 PM.
