KISSIMMEE, Fla.- The Illinois College Lady Blues faced Mount Union and York College in a doubleheader on the last day of their spring trip. The Lady Blues suffered a loss to Mount Union and York to fall to 3-9 overall this season.
GAME 1- Illinois College 1, University of Mount Union 6
Both teams played great defense in the first game of the day. The game remained scoreless heading into the sixth inning. Mount Union was able to get their offense going putting up six runs. This would prove to be too much to overcome as IC would suffer the loss to the Raiders.
Julia Drake started the game for the Lady Blues in the circle pitching 4.0 innings with four strikeouts.
Terin Teeter suffered the loss pitching 1.0 innings with one strikeout.
GAME 2- Illinois College 0, York College 15
The second game of the day proved to be a tough one for IC. York College got off to a hot start and relied on their explosive offense to earn the win after five innings.
Olivia Shimmin suffered the loss pitching 1.0 innings with two strikeouts.
IC will return home to travel and face Washington University in a doubleheader on Wednesday, 3/15 at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM CT.
