DAVENPORT, Fla.- Illinois College faced Crown College on Friday, 3/10 in a pair of seven-inning games. The Blueboys split winning game one 4-0 and falling short in game two 2-8. This puts the team at 2-9 overall this season.
GAME 1- Illinois College 4, Crown College 0
IC was fired up in game one of their doubleheader looking for a win. The team was able to score first after a double by
Ryan Huskey brought in
Jaydon Davis for the score. A double by
Griffin King brought in Huskey to make the score 2-0 in the fourth inning.
IC added two more runs by Jonathon Odom and Connor Henneman in the seventh inning to secure the victory.
Cullen McBride was the starter at the mound earning the win pitching 7.0 innings with two strikeouts.
GAME 2- Illinois College 2, Crown College 8
The second game of the day featured
Jack McGuire at the mound for IC. He would suffer the loss pitching 3.1 innings with five strikeouts.
Henneman led the team going one for two and scoring one run.
Louie Bartletti also had an impressive day going one for three with a run scored.
The Blueboys cut the Crown lead to 2-3 in the third inning. Crown answered scoring five runs in the fourth and sixth inning to claim the win.
The Blueboys will return home to travel and face Blackburn College on Tuesday, 3/14 at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM CT.
