JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Grinnell College during the Ada Dickerson Range Memorial Game Wednesday night. The Lady Blues picked up the win against the Pioneers with a final score of 54-43. This improves Illinois College to 10-12 overall and 7-6 in conference play.

Illinois College honored former Lady Blues basketball player Ada Dickerson Range who recently passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. Range was a 2003 graduate of Illinois College and was a four-year starter and three-year captain for the Lady Blues basketball team. Range was named First Team All-MWC three times and won the Hopper Award twice as IC's top female student-athlete of the year. Her exceptional athletic career led to an induction into the IC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016.Â

Maya Smith was the leading scorer for Illinois College with 15 points. Smith shot 3-9 from the field and 7-8 from the free throw line.
Ashlyn Wightman also scored in double-figures for the Lady Blues recording 14 points and seven rebounds.
Lakeida Nichols led the team on the glass with a total of nine rebounds in the game.

Illinois College jumped out to an early lead in the first half. The Pioneers cut the Lady Blues lead to three with the score at 46-43 with 1:54 left in the game. IC pulled away in the final two minutes going on a 8-0 run to close out the conference victory.

The Lady Blues will travel to Lake Forest College on Saturday, 2/11 at 3:00 pm.
