LAKE FOREST, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face Lake Forest on Saturday. The team came up short suffering a loss to the Foresters with a final score of 77-88. This drops the team to 10-13 overall and 7-7 in the MWC.
Maya Smith led the way with 23 points in the contest. Other double-figure scorers included
Maya Williams with 12 points and
Anna McKee with 11 points. Smith and
Lakeida Nichols led the team on the boards with six rebounds each.
The game remained close down the stretch. IC was down three with seconds remaining after some Forester free throws made the score 67-70.
Gracie Kizer showed some late-game heroics draining a three-pointer to tie the game in the final seconds and send the game to overtime.
Lake Forest took control in the overtime period to claim the win in a hard-fought battle.
IC will travel to face Knox College on Tuesday, 2/14 at 5:30 PM.
