JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Grinnell College on Wednesday night for Faculty Appreciation Night. The Blueboys defeated the Pioneers with a final score of 104-81. This extends the record for most wins in a single season for the Blueboys to 20 with a record of 20-2 overall and 12-1 in the MWC.
The Blueboys were led by a monster performance from
Nestor Daboin recording a double-double with 32 points and 14 rebounds.
Jake Mazrimas was also exceptional with a double-double recording 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Buzz Ritzel also reached double-figures with a double-double recording 15 points and 10 assists.
The IC athletic department took the time to recognize track & field star Will Ross as the 2022 Downer Award winner for most outstanding male student-athlete at halftime. Ross was the national champion in NCAA Division III in the outdoor triple jump after posting a school record at the national meet with a mark of 50' 2.75".
IC men's basketball will travel to face Lake Forest College this weekend on Saturday, 2/11 at 5:00 PM.
