LAKE FOREST, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to take on Lake Forest College on Saturday night. The team picked up a win over the Foresters with a final score of 83-63 to advance to 21-2 overall and 13-1 in the MWC. With this win, Illinois College is named the Midwest Conference regular season champions.
The team was led by
Buzz Ritzel with 16 points. The Blueboys had five players in double-figures including
Tre Rogers (15),
Jahkeis Tippett (11),
Jake Mazrimas (11), and
Josh Harris (11).
Nestor Daboin led the team on the boards with nine rebounds.
The Blueboys started off strong and maintained their lead for the entire game. The team ended the day shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc.
This is the Blueboys first time winning the regular season MWC championship in program history. The team will host the MWC Tournament on Friday, 2/24, and Saturday, 2/25.
IC will travel to face Knox College on Tuesday, 2/14 at 7:30 PM.
