JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Principia College on Monday night. The team picked up a win against the Panthers with a final score of 74-62. This improves the team to 9-12 overall and 6-6 in the MWC.
Gracie Kizer was the teams leading scorer with 17 points on the night. Kizer was exceptional shooting 5-11 from beyond the arc. Other double-figure scorers included
Maya Smith with 15 points and
Ashlyn Wightman with 12 points. Wightman led the team on the boards with 9 rebounds in the contest.
The Panthers cut the Lady Blues lead to three points with the score 56-53 with 7:36 left in the fourth quarter. IC ended the game on an impressive 18-6 run to take their largest lead of the game at 74-59 in the final minute. IC would hang on to claim the win down the stretch.
The Lady Blues will host the Ada Dickerson Range Memorial Game against Grinnell College on Wednesday, 2/8 at 5:30 PM.
