GALESBURG, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues traveled to face the top team in the Midwest Conference in Knox College on Tuesday. IC fell short in a close contest with a final score of 62-63. This drops the team to 10-14 overall and 7-8 in the MWC.
Maya Williams led the Lady Blues with 15 points on the night. Other double-figure scorers included
Gracie Kizer with 11 points and
Maya Smith with 10 points.
Lakeida Nichols and
Jayln Patterson both led the team with seven rebounds each.
The Lady Blues had the lead in the final minutes. The Prairie Fire were able to draw a shooting foul to head to the free throw line with 11 seconds remaining in the game. Knox would drain the free throws to take the lead and close out the win.
IC will host Lawrence University for Senior Day on Saturday, 2/18 at 1:00 PM.
