GALESBURG, Ill. – Illinois College used a strong offensive performance and rolled past Knox College, 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-7) in a Midwest Conference volleyball match Wednesday at Memorial Gymnasium.
With the victory, the Lady Blues improved to 13-12 overall and 5-1 in conference play while the Prairie Fire dropped to 2-16 and 1-6.
The IC offensive attack was led by senior
Paige Knuffman and junior
Ligaya Garibay. Knuffman had a team-best 18 kills while hitting .414 for the evening. Garibay, who hit a team-best .778, recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 18 digs. Setter
Summer Brandis dished out 39 assists in the victory.
Senior
Jen Humbolt recorded a team-high 22 digs for the Lady Blues to headline the defensive effort.
Illinois College returns home Friday when it hosts Monmouth College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Sherman Gymnasium.
