Box Score GRINNELL, Iowa. - The Illinois College volleyball team resumed Midwest Conference play with a visit to Grinnell College Friday night. The Lady Blues improve to 3-0 in MWC play after defeating the Pioneers in straight sets by the final scores of 25-21, 25-22, and 25-14. IC now stands at 11-10 overall this season. Â
The Lady Blues were led on offense by
Paige Knuffman as she recorded a game-high 14 kills while
Ligaya Garibay contributed nine kills.
Summer Brandis dished out 26 assists while
Alex Johnson led IC with three service aces.Â
IC had two student-athletes finish with double-digit digs marks led by
Ella Middleton with 16 while Garibay recorded 12 digs. At the net,
Alyssa Burglund added one solo block add two assisted blocks while
Laura Kaiser contributed two assisted blocks.   Â
The Lady Blues will continue MWC play visiting #24 Cornell College on Saturday, October 14 at 1:00 PM in Mount Vernon, Iowa.Â
