JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Beloit College in MWC action on Saturday. The Blueboys defeated the Buccaneers with a final score of 58-47. This improves the team to 17-1 overall and extends their undefeated conference record to 9-0.
The team was able to spread the ball around offensively with three players reaching double-figures in scoring.
Buzz Ritzel (12),
Josh Harris (12), and
Tre Rogers (10) were the standouts offensively for the Blueboys.
Nestor Daboin led the team in rebounding with 12 rebounds on the night.
The game proved to be a defensive matchup with both teams showing great intensity. A made jump shot by Ritzel would make the score 37-20 with 1:48 remaining to give IC their largest lead of the first half. The Blueboys were able to maintain their lead in the second half, not allowing Beloit to decrease the deficit under double figures to claim the victory.
This is the Blueboy's 16th consecutive win while still remaining undefeated in MWC play at 9-0.
The Blueboys will travel to face Cornell College on Wednesday, 1/25 at 7:30 PM.
