JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Knox College in MWC action on Tuesday night. The team defeated the Prairie Fire with a final score of 84-64 to remain undefeated in the MWC with a record of 8-0 and improve to 16-1 overall.
Tre Rogers was the team's leader in scoring with 21 points. This earned him his 1,000th point in his college basketball career between his playing time at Illinois College and Lewis and Clark Community College.
Buzz Ritzel had an exceptional night with 20 points.
Jake Mazrimas also reached double-figures with 14 points.
Nestor Daboin led the team on the glass recording 10 rebounds.
IC dominated the game from the beginning starting with a 17-2 run to take a commanding lead. IC stood ahead 44-33 at the end of the first half.
A made three-pointer by Rogers would give IC their largest lead of the night with the score at 74-50 with 6:15 left in the game. The Blueboys were able to entertain the crowd with their high-flying athleticism throwing down multiple highlight dunks. IC was able to close out the game to maintain their perfect record in the MWC.
The Blueboys will return to MWC action hosting Beloit College in their second matchup of the season this Saturday, 1/21 at 3:00 PM.
