JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues basketball team hosted Knox College on Tuesday night. The team suffered a loss to the Prairie Fire with a final score of 68-72. This drops IC to 5-11 overall and 3-5 in the MWC.
Jayln Patterson was the team's leading scorer with 15 points on the night.
Ashlyn Wightman was the teams leading rebounder with six and was also able to reach double-figures in scoring with 12 points.Â
The Lady Blues fell behind in the first half against the top team in the MWC. Knox was able to build a 15 point lead as the game headed to halftime. IC chipped away at the Prairie Fire lead in the second half. A made free throw by Patterson cut the Knox lead to 68-70 with five seconds remaining in the game. The Lady Blues ran out of time to complete the comeback and would fall just short to the Prairie Fire.Â
The team will return to MWC action hosting Beloit College on Saturday, 1/21 at 1:00 PM.Â
