JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Coe College on Tuesday night. The team picked up a big win defeating the Kohawks 3-0 to advance IC to 7-3-1 overall.
The Blueboys relied on a strong offensive attack from the start of the match.
Thomas Menke was able to get to the net after an assist from
Tyler Schiltz in the first minute of play. Shortly after,
Aaron Yancey and Schiltz were able to set up
Dillon Arens with an impressive goal to make the score 2-0.
Jared Wiening would extend the Blueboys lead once more with a goal of his own in the 42nd minute. IC stood ahead 3-0 heading into halftime.
IC held the Kohawks scoreless for the rest of the match to record their fourth shutout of the season.
Carlos Garcia led the team in goal with four saves in the match.
The Blueboys will continue conference play on the road facing Lawrence University on Saturday, 10/1 at 11:00 AM.
