JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted Grinnell College to begin their MWC schedule. The team suffered a loss to the Pioneers with a final of 1-3 to drop to 6-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the MWC.
Both teams played well defensively as the game remained scoreless at the end of the first half. Grinnell was able to strike first with a goal in the 50th minute. IC answered with a goal by
Tyler Schiltz on a penalty kick shortly after to tie the match at 1-1.
Grinnell connected with the net two more times to claim the win over IC.
Owen Macias represented the Blueboys in goal with three saves on the day.
The team will return to competition on Tuesday, 9/27 at 6:30 PM hosting Coe College.
