MONMOUTH, Ill.- The Blueboys traveled to face Monmouth College on Saturday in MWC competition. IC suffered a loss to the Fighting Scots with a final score of 20-51. This drops the team to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the MWC.
Collin Brunstein put the Blueboys on the board first with a 79-yard touchdown reception from
Bryson Brown in the first quarter. Monmouth answered with three touchdowns to take a 7-21 lead heading into the second quarter.
Monmouth was able to hold onto their lead for the remainder of the game to claim the win. Brown played well at the quarterback position completing seven of his 13 passing attempts with 131 yards and one touchdown through the air.
Colin DuBois was the team's leading rusher with 67 yards. Brunstein was exceptional recording 136 receiving yards with one touchdown.
The defense was led by
Trent Durell recording seven tackles with one forced fumble.
The Blueboys will look to bounce back against Ripon College on Homecoming weekend Saturday, 10/1 at 1:00 PM.
