LEXINGTON, Ky.- The IC Lady Blues volleyball team competed in the second day of the Transylvania University Invite. The team suffered two losses to Texas Lutheran 0-3 and Sewanee 2-3.
GAME 1- Illinois College 0, Texas Lutheran 3
IC suffered a three-set loss to Texas Lutheran in their first match of the day.
Paige Knuffman was the team's leader with five kills.
Summer Brandis was able to set up her teammates recording nine assists.
The team was led on defense by
Jen Humbolt with 12 digs.
GAME 2- Illinois College 2, Sewanee 3
The second match of the day proved to be a competitive one. After falling in the first set, the Lady Blues won two straight to take the lead in the match 2-1. Sewanee would tie the match to force the fifth set. Sewanee would edge out the Lady Blues to earn the win in the match overall.
Knuffman continued to lead the team with nine kills in the match.
Morgan Burr led the team with 18 assists and Humbolt led the team with an impressive 30 digs.
The Lady Blues will travel to face Greenville University on Wednesday, 9/14 at 6:00 PM.
