JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted the University of Chicago in their first home game of the season on Saturday. IC fell short to the Maroons with a final of 14-40. This drops IC to 1-1 overall this season.
IC was led by
Jack Hanauer offensively passing for 172 yards and one touchdown. Hanauer was also the team's leading rusher with 27 yards in the game. IC had two receivers with over 100 yards receiving.
Collin Brunstein led the team with 143 yards and one touchdown.
KJ Corley also made a huge impact totaling 107 yards receiving with one receiving touchdown.
Chicago was able to get off to a hot start building a 13-0 lead over the Blueboys in the first half. Hanauer was able to connect with Brunstein for a 75-yard touchdown to get IC on the board. Corley was able to capitalize on a 64-yard touchdown pass from
Bryson Brown to score the second touchdown of the day.
Charlie Patterson was exceptional on defense with 17 tackles and two sacks in the contest. He also finished the day with 3.5 tackles for loss.
The Blueboys will look to bounce back on the road against Monmouth College on Saturday, 9/17 at 1:00 PM.
