NORMAL, Ill.- The Illinois College men's and women's cross country teams traveled to compete in the Titan Opener for their first meet of the season. The Lady Blues earned a sixth place finish and the Blueboys finished fifth out of the seven teams.
The men's team was led by
Devin Boggs placing 13th overall with a time of 16:10.31 in the three-mile race. He was followed closely by
Elgin Scherff (17th place, 16:18.89) and
Will Detmer (18th place, 16:32.69).
IC's women's team was led by
Ashley Orrick with a 24th-place finish and a time of 13:28.01 in the two-mile race. She was followed by
Kairy Mercado-Ramos (43rd place, 14:31.60) and
Elizabeth Ruvalcaba (49th place, 15:21.77).
Both teams will return to action on Friday, 9/9 for the UIS First Meet hosted by the University of Illinois Springfield.
