CLERMONT, Fla.- The Illinois College Lady Blues had a doubleheader on Tuesday taking on Penn State Berks and Catholic University. The team split earning an exciting win over Penn State Berks and suffering a loss Catholic University to stand at 3-4 overall this season.
GAME 1- Illinois College 2, Penn State Berks 1
IC found themselves in a battle with Penn State Berks. The Lady Blues were down 0-1 after the top of the third.
Grace Braun singled to bring in a run by
Claudia Adam to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth. IC would claim the win after a double by
Grace Frost brought in the game winning run by
Emma Farley.
Sydney Hood earned the win in the circle pitching the entire 7.0 innings earning five strikeouts.
GAME 2- Illinois College 2, Catholic University 13
The Lady Blues suffered a tough loss in the second game of the day. IC fell behind early after Catholic was able to put together 12 runs in the bottom of the first. This lead would prove to be too much for IC to overcome as they suffered a loss to the Cardinals.
The Lady Blues will continue their spring trip on Thursday, 3/10 taking on Alfred University at 10:00 AM ET and UMass Dartmouth at 12:15 PM ET.
