LEESBURG, Fla.- The Illinois College softball team wrapped up their spring Florida trip today. The team suffered a loss to Dominican University and #13 Mount St. Joseph University to drop to 3-6 overall this season.
GAME1- Illinois College 1, Dominican University 6
Cheyenne Anderson led the Lady Blues offensively in game one going two for four with one run. The team fell behind trailing the Stars 0-6 in the bottom of the fourth. IC's lone run came in the top of the sixth after a double by
Claudia Adam brought in Anderson for the score.
Alissa Hodge suffered the loss in the circle pitching 2.1 innings with two strikeouts.
GAME 2- Illinois College 0, #13 Mount St. Joseph University 5
The second game of the day proved to be a tough matchup for the Lady Blues. The team suffered their first shutout loss of the season to the #13 ranked Mount St. Joseph Lions.
Sydney Hood suffered the loss pitching all seven innings earning six strikeouts.
The Lady Blues will look ahead taking on Illinois Wesleyan University on Tuesday, 3/22 at Future Champions Field at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM CT.
