DAVENPORT, Fla.- The Illinois College Blueboys faced University of Northwestern (Minn.) in a single nine inning game on Monday. The Blueboys fell short to the Eagles with a final of 7-9. This drops IC to 2-4 overall this season.
IC stood down one in the top of the sixth with the score at 5-6.
Griffin King was able to tie the game with a solo homerun to left field.
Tyler Blum would follow that with a homerun of his own to put IC on top 7-6 in the top of the seventh.
UNW tied the game once more heading into the eighth. The team would take the lead over IC scoring two runs to secure the victory.
Owen Macias suffered his first loss of the season at the mound.
The Blueboys will look ahead to take on Anna Maria College on Wednesday, 3/9 at 3:30 PM ET.
