LEESBURG, Fla.- The Illinois College Lady Blues fell short in a close contest against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a final of 3-4. This drops the Lady Blues to 1-2 overall this season.
IC was able to score first in the top of the second inning with a run by
Cheyenne Anderson to take the early lead.
Claudia Adam was able to add another run in the top of the third to put IC ahead 2-0.
Madisyn Webster increased the lead once more to 3-0 in the top of the fifth.
RPI put together a scoring run in the end of the game to tie the score 3-3 in the final inning. The team was able to score the winning run to claim the win over the Lady Blues in their first game of the spring trip.
Alissa Hodge suffered the loss in the circle pitching 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.
IC will face Hiram College on Monday, 3/7 at 11:00 AM ET.
