DECATUR, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to face Millikin University in a doubleheader on Saturday. IC fell short dropping both games to the Big Blue to fall to 5-8 overall.
GAME 1- Illinois College 5, Millikin University 9
IC was able to get on the board in the first inning after a double by
James Marcinkowski brought in a run by
Peyton Phillis. Millikin then went on a 9-0 run to take the lead over IC 1-9. The Blueboys would add multiple runs in the final innings in a valiant effort, but would fall short.
John Fink would suffer the loss pitching 1.1 innings with one strikeout.
GAME 2- Illinois College 0, Millikin University 17
Millikin was able to take control of the game early. IC stood down 0-6 at the end of the third. The Blueboys were unable to regain the lead in a hard fought contest.
Andrew Wieneke would suffer the loss at the mound pitching 3.0 innings with three strikeouts.
The Blueboys will host Rockford University on Sunday, 3/20 at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
