JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues walked away with a close win over the Beloit College Buccaneers on Monday night with a final of 70-64. This advances the Lady Blues to 5-9 overall and 4-5 in the MWC.
IC was led by
Krista Bass,
Junie Zirkelbach, and
Anna McKee each totaling 13 points in the contest.
Kendra Bass was also able to reach double figures in scoring with 12 points.
Krista Bass and
Ashlyn Wightman led the team on the boards with eight rebounds each.Â
Both teams would stand tied 48-48 going into the final quarter of play. IC started the fourth quarter gaining the momentum after a made jumper by
Krista Bass and a made three-pointer by Zirkelbach to jump to a five point lead. The score remained close, but IC never gave up the lead and was able to hold off the Buccaneers for a big conference win.Â
The Lady Blues will travel to take on Grinnell College this Wednesday, 2/7 at 7:30 PM.Â
