JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted the Cornell College Rams on Sunday in MWC action. The Lady Blues were able to pick up a win against the Rams with a final score of 73-68 to clinch their spot in the MWC postseason tournament. This improves the team to 10-10 overall and 9-6 in the MWC.
IC was led by
Kendra Bass in scoring with 21 points. Other double figure scorers included
Lilly Pepper (20) and
Junie Zirkelbach (16).
Madison Schoenfeld led the team on the boards recording 11 rebounds in the contest.Â
The score remained tight for a majority of the game. Both teams stood tied 57-57 with 6:59 left in the fourth quarter. IC was able to jump ahead after a made jumper by Pepper and back-to-back buckets by
Kendra Bass to give IC the six point lead. The Lady Blues were able to hold off the Rams with great free throw shooting down the stretch to claim the win.Â
The Lady Blues will travel to compete in the MWC Tournament on Friday, 2/25 at Ripon College. IC will battle the #1 seed Ripon College at 8:00 PM.Â
