JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys picked up a win in their last home game of the season against the Grinnell College Pioneers with a final of 117-98. The team now stands at 13-10 overall and 9-6 in the MWC.
IC ended the game with six players in double figures.
Jake Mazrimas led the team recording a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
Nestor Daboin was also able to record a double-double with 10 points, 13 rebounds and an incredible seven blocks on the day. Other double figure scorers included
Hunter Ottensmeier (12),
Justin Kellogg (11),
Tre Rogers (10), and
Josh Harris (10).
The game stood close as it headed to halftime with the Blueboys ahead 51-50. IC came out of the locker room with a lot of momentum. The team was able to build a ten point lead in the first three minutes of the half. IC turned up the defensive intensity to limit the Pioneers offensively. IC was able to break away after a huge dunk by
Benton Singleton gave the Blueboys their largest lead of the day with the score at 113-84. IC would carry the momentum for the rest of the game and come away with the win.
The team will now travel to face Knox College on Tuesday, 2/22 at 7:30 PM to keep their MWC postseason hopes alive.
