JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Lady Blues hosted Knox College in MWC action on Tuesday night. The Prairie Fire were able to defeat IC with a final score of 76-80. This drops IC to 8-10 overall and 7-6 in the MWC.
Lilly Pepper recorded a double-double once again with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the contest.
Anna McKee had an impressive night shooting totaling 17 points and going 5-11 from beyond the arc. Other double figure scorers included
Kendra Bass (15) and
Junie Zirkelbach (14).
The Lady Blues trailed for a majority of the contest, but did not ever stop competing. The team was able to overcome the deficit in the final quarter to take the lead over Knox on a made jumper by
Madison Schoenfeld to make the score 62-61. IC kept the game close, but fell just short in the final minute to suffer a loss to the Prairie Fire.
IC will host Cornell College on Thursday, 2/17 at 5:30 PM.
