JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys hosted the Monmouth College Fighting Scots in MWC action this Tuesday. The Fighting Scots were able to come away with a tight win over the Blueboys with a final of 72-74. This drops IC to 9-8 overall and 5-4 in the MWC.
Tre Rogers led the way for IC totaling 22 points on the night.
Henry Hayer was also able to reach double figures with 16 points.
Jake Mazrimas led the team on the boards recording 13 rebounds in the contest.
The game remained close with both teams tied at 38-38 with 14:25 left in the second half. Monmouth was able to put together a run to take the lead over the Blueboys late in the game. IC saw some late game heroics by Hayer and Rogers hitting back to back three-pointers in the final seconds, but the Blueboys came up short in their comeback attempt.
The Blueboys will continue their conference schedule hosting Beloit College next Monday, 2/7 at 5:30 PM.
