DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The Illinois College Blueboys faced the Suny Brockport Golden Eagles in the first game of their road trip down to Daytona Beach. The Blueboys earned a victory with a final score of 79-63 to advance to 10-1 overall this season.
Jake Mazrimas was a standout for IC recording a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Other double-figure scorers included
Mohammed Fadika and
Buzz Ritzel with 11 points, and
Jahkeis Tippett with 10.
IC got off to a hot start establishing an early lead. A made layup by Fadika with 6:52 left would give the Blueboys their largest lead of the first half with the score 29-15. The team was able to extend their lead in the second half and control the momentum to walk away with the win in the first game of their road trip.
Then Blueboys will return to action on Sunday, 12/18 facing Northern Vermont University-Lyndon at 1:00 PM CT, 2:00 PM ET.
