ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Illinois College Blueboys basketball team traveled to face Webster University in their season opener. The team came away with a big win over the Gorloks with a final score of 61-45.
IC was led by a standout performance from
Jake Mazrimas recording a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Mazrimas was lights out shooting 5-8 from beyond the arc.
Josh Harris was also able to reach double figures in scoring with 14 points.
The game started off competitively with both teams trading the lead. After being down 19-20, the Blueboys ended the half on a 9-2 run to stand ahead 28-22 heading into halftime.
IC continued to produce offensively and protected the lead for the remainder of the game to claim the win.
The Blueboys will host Millikin University on Saturday, 11/12 in their home opener starting at 5:00 PM.
