JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Cornell College in their conference opener on Tuesday night. The team suffered a loss to the Rams with a final score of 56-68. This drops IC to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the MWC this season.
The team was led by
Lilly Pepper with 18 points and six rebounds.
Ashlyn Wightman also had an impressive performance with 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Sarra Faust led the team with 5 assists.
The Rams started the game on fire building a 22-30 lead at halftime. The Lady Blues answered in the third quarter outscoring the Rams 20-18. A made jump shot by Faust brought the Lady Blues to within three points with 1:37 left in the third quarter. The Rams were able to hold off the Lady Blues comeback and secure the win handing IC their first conference loss of the season.
The team will be back in action at home on Saturday, 12/3 hosting Ripon College at 1:00 PM.
