JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys took on Blackburn College in the semifinal round of the Bill Merris Tournament on Friday. IC was able to pick up the win over the Beavers with a final score of 87-64. This improves the team to 3-1 overall this season and advances them to the championship game of the Bill Merris Tournament.
IC was led by a strong performance from
Jake Mazrimas. Mazrimas totaled 24 points and 12 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season.
Josh Harris was a standout offensively as well with 22 points in the contest.
Nestor Daboin was also exceptional recording a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Blueboys were able to take control of the momentum early. The team would stand ahead of the Beavers with a comfortable 47-31 lead at the end of the first half. IC continued to control the pace down the stretch and hold on to claim the win.
The team advances to the Championship game of the tournament where they will face Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, 11/19 at 3:00 PM.
