JACKSONVILLE, Ill.- The Illinois College Lady Blues hosted Greenville University in their home opener on Wednesday night. The team suffered a loss to the Panthers with a final score of 66-81. This drops IC to 0-3 overall this season.
The team was led by
Lilly Pepper almost recording a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Maya Smith was exceptional leading the team with seven assists and reaching double figures in scoring with 15.
Ashlyn Wightman also had a standout performance with 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Lady Blues cut the lead to just six points after a made jumper by
Maya Smith made the score 29-35 at the end of the first half. Greenville was able to extend their lead outscoring IC 24-14 in the third quarter. The lead would prove too much to overcome as the Lady Blues would suffer the loss.
The team will be back in action at home on Tuesday, 11/22 hosting Central College at 5:30 PM.
