GALESBURG, Ill.- The Illinois College Blueboys traveled to face Knox College in MWC action on Tuesday. The team fell short to the Prairie Fire with a final score of 1-3. This drops IC to 8-8-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the MWC.
Both teams relied on their defense in the first half of play. The match stood scoreless heading into halftime. The Prairie Fire were able to build some momentum early in the second half with a goal to take the lead in the 55th minute. Two more goals in the 60th and 65th minute would extend the Knox College lead.
Jacob Pelletier found the back of the net to put the Blueboys on the board in the 70th minute. IC could not overcome the deficit, and would ultimately suffer the loss to the Prairie Fire.
The team will wrap up their 2022 season at home against Ripon College on Saturday, 10/29 at 11:00 AM.
